چکیده

The Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) transmission technique can efficiently deal with multi-path propagation effects especially in broadband radio channels. It also has a high degree of system flexibility in multiple access schemes by combining the conventional TDMA, FDMA and CDMA approaches with the OFDM modulation procedure which is particularly important in the uplink of a multi-user system. In OFDMFDMA schemes carrier synchronization and the resulting subcarrier orthogonality plays an important role to avoid any multiple access interferences (MAI) in the base station receiver. An additional technical challenge in system design is the required amplifier linearity to avoid any non-linear effects caused by a large peak-to-average ratio (PAR) of an OFDM transmission signal. A specific OFDM-FDMA uplink procedure is proposed and will be designed in this paper which can be seen as a combination of a specific subcarrier spreading scheme and subcarrier selection process. The resulting transmit signal consists of a periodic extension and multiple repetition of all modulation symbols and leads therefore to an extremely low computation complexity in the transmitter. Furthermore, the transmit signal shows simultaneously a constant envelope to avoid any non-linear effects in the amplification process. This uplink scheme can be considered as a trade off between low computation complexity and system performance. Keywords—OFDM, FDMA, CDMA, Uplink, PAR, OFDMA DFT Spreading

Using WPT as a New Method Instead of FFT for ‌Improving the Performance of OFDM Modulation

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is used in order to provide immunity against very hostile multipath channels in many modern communication systems.. The OFDM technique divides the total available frequency bandwidth into several narrow bands. In conventional OFDM, FFT algorithm is used to provide orthogonal subcarriers. Intersymbol interference (ISI) and intercarrier interferen...

Analysis and design of OFDM-IDMA systems

This paper deals with the analysis and design of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing interleavedivision multiple-access (OFDM-IDMA). We begin with the analysis of the information-theoretical advantages of non-orthogonal transmission schemes in fading multiple-access channels. We then turn attention to practical design issues. A signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) evolution technique is developed...

Selective Tone Reservation Method for PAPR Reduction of Spatially Multiplexed OFDM Systems

Tone Reservation (TR) is one of the well-known methods for PAPR reduction of Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) systems. In this method some sub-carriers are reserved for PAPR reduction and the symbols in these sub-carriers are selected such that the PAPR of the OFDM frame is minimized. In this paper, the iterative algorithm introduced earlier for TR method in single antenna OFDM...

Other-Cell Interference Reducing Resource Allocation in OFDM-Based Asynchronous Cellular Systems

Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is considered as one of the most promising techniques for next-generation wireless access systems. However, it may suffer from the so-called other-cell interference (OCI) in cellular environments. In this paper, we consider a novel resource allocation scheme to reduce the OCI in OFDM-based asynchronous cellular systems. The proposed scheme can r...

On the Receiver Design for Downlink of MIMO MC-CDMA Systems over Frequency Selective Rayleigh Fading Channels

In this paper, we propose two receiving schemes for multiple antenna multi-carrier code division multiple access (MCCDMA) systems. Our proposed schemes are based on vertical Bell labs layered space-time (V-BLAST) architecture. The interference cancellation is performed serially on different sub-carriers. The channel matrices related to different sub-carriers are used in the successive interfere...
